Database Design

Redundant data:

Data that is not needed in a database.
There are many types of redundant data such as repeated data and incorrect data( such as spelling)

Good database design helps with eliminating redundant data, if  redundant data is kept in a database, they will cause problems such as incorrect results(searching for something that is spelled wrong), slow retrieval information, wasting valuable space on a server.
